About this list

This list gathers every place in Paris and the petite couronne where a game can be played over the board, grouped by kind. The clubs are the backbone, each with its weekly sessions in a hall and its own timetable. Tournaments are the second way in, from weekly rated rapids in the city to the yearly opens of the suburban clubs.

Then come the cafés and bars: the Blitz Society on rue du Sabot, the bar L'Échiquier on rue Saint-Maur, the Salon Boba Fruits that hosts Inter Chess in the 15th, and the Café Les 2 Parisiens where the Canal Saint-Martin club plays blitz on Fridays. The chess schools come last.
